Almost There!!!

We are so close! Since my last blog we have stayed in Omaha, Chicago and now we are in Pittsburg! So far the travel has been wonderfully uneventful, with very minor issues to deal with.

But last night Skyler presented us with the most difficult night in the history of Skyler. I think he was just so tired of driving, and being in places he doesn't recognize, and not having his own room (Skyler is a bit of an island, and enjoys being left alone a few hours a day). I finally resorted to putting him in the bathtub where he drenched the whole bathroom splashing and wearing himself out. But even afterwards he wouldn't stop screaming, so we turned off all the lights and TV and laid quietly in our beds until he was finally able to drift off. It was rough, but ultimately I felt bad for Skyler, he doesn't understand what is happening and there's really no way to explain to him why we are doing all of this traveling.

On the flip side, Jayda has exceeded all hoped of good behavior on this trip. I almost feel like in this last four days, she has grown up SO much. She has barely complained, she sits quietly in the car, colors and watches her Dora. She is even an angel when we stop to eat and leaves causing a scene to Skyler. I'm so proud of her.

We have seen some beautiful sights on the way, including some wonderful parks with so much GREEN! But I will say that despite the relatively easy move, I am SO HAPPY that we are so close and that we are going home tomorrow. Staying in a small hotel room has been a little rough on us, I miss my bed, and I really can't wait to eat real food, instead of fast food.

I do have a few pictures from the first day of travel, but unfortunately the camera died on the first day. Rachel has taken a few pictures since then, so I will post what I can when I get the chance. I also need to catch up on San Diego and other things of that nature. For now, I just can't wait to be home!

Poor babies....Traveling is so hard on them. Almost done. Too bad you couldn't fly there. Only a couple hours of pain then. I want to see pictures of the new home.
