San Diego 2010

This is the third year we have made it to San Diego with my family. It's definitely one of the highlights of the year. We picked Glenn up in SLC and roadtripped it up, making a very imperative stop at the Williams Sonoma outlet, aka the Greatest Place on Earth! We stayed at a beach house that was literally feet from the ocean and spent the week relaxing, eating a lot of fish tacos and enjoying each other's company. I also got a very wonderful visit from my dear friend Alissa, which was SO fun. It was crazy to see her on the other side of the country, when I had just seen her off a month earlier.

The only downside to the week was that the weather was never really compliant, not allowing us to spend much time on the beach. It was a bit discouraging, but we found other fun things to keep us occupied. On the positive end, my ENTIRE family was there this summer, including my baby brother Greg who I hadn't seen in almost two years. We were also able to celebrate Deanna and Jayda's birthdays, which are only a day apart. It was so good to be there with everyone.

Our Summer in Idaho

Oh I'm so behind! And the more behind I get, the harder it is to blog, which of course perpetuates the cycle. But I digress...

Our summer this year was probably one of my best ever. I can't necessarily speak for Glenn who was left behind to study for the boards, poor guy! But I was able to fly home with Jackie for a glorious entire month with my family. I know I say it all the time, but I'm so crazy about my family, they are so much fun! I was also able to catch up with my long-time friends, a lot of them who I've known for over half of my life. It was so great. We spent as much time as possible outside, swimming, boating, and picnicking. I also got to try "surfing" behind a boat for the first time, I'm hooked! At this point I'm not going to bother narrating, I'm just going to post pics and hope they speak for themselves.

Fourth of July

One of the first thing we did in Idaho was celebrate the Fourth of July. We didn't do anything fancy, just lit fireworks in the backyard, but it sure was great being reunited with my family. I never get sick of these people. My mom and I also had a potato salad throwdown. She won, I don't want to talk about it :)
