I've always really loved Easter, next to Christmas it's my favorite holiday. I love the warm weather, the bright colors, the HAM!! and of course the meaning of Easter. Rebirth, Resurrection, it's all very clean and promising isn't it? So appropriate after a long dirty winter.
This year Glenn wasn't around as much so we had to fit stuff in between his shifts. We dyed our eggs, and then Saturday while he was away we hung out with Myles and his mom Sheri. We tried our luck at a community Easter Egg hunt, but by the time we got there all the eggs were gone and the kids were angry! So to make up for it we hid a few eggs in my apartment and let the kids play, with pizza for lunch.
I was on Easter bunny duty that night since Glenn was gone, which bummed me out a little since we like to do that together, but it worked. The kids couldn't wait to get up early and hunt for their eggs. I fear that I only have a year or so left before they're going to have the whole Easter Bunny/Santa/Toothfairy thing figured out, but maybe they'll still indulge me if it means getting candy and presents.
Glenn got home in time for church and we had ourselves a nice quiet ham dinner at home. Our one and only New Jersey Easter.
