Valentine's Day has not typically been a big deal with Glenn and I. We usually run the motions of going out to eat, or getting flowers etc. But this year we really wanted to do something special, but more importantly, I really wanted to surprise him. I NEVER get to surprise Glenn, he always figures out what I'm doing, so this was pretty fun for me. I'll get to all of that...
So the actually day of V-day I drove home desperately not wanting to cook or do much of anything at all, so this was the extent of our Valentine's on Thursday.
Nothing says romance like a heart shaped pizza. All hope was not lost for us though, because we got a fun surprise visit from Grandma and Grandpa J who had some fun balloons and gifts from the kids, and some nice cuts of meat for us! It was a great visit and we always love to see the parents.
The next night we had arranged for a babysitter, and had planned to go to Idaho Falls for a night out. I told Glenn to drop the kids off without me because I wasn't ready yet. While he was out, I set up a table setting and a nice dinner for us to enjoy at home, WITHOUT THE KIDS, and we ended up having a really quiet and relaxing evening in instead. I was a little nervous that he would be disappointed that we weren't going anywhere, but he was pleasantly surprised and we had a great time. It might not sound like that big of a deal, but there was something so great about being at home with each other without the constant sounds and needs of the kids to attend to. It added a whole new refreshing quality to being at home again. My friend gave me the idea a few months ago, so thank you and great idea!!

What a great idea! Your table looks great and the pic of your pizza is making me really really hungry. What a good idea to do a heart shape! I will need to learn some new cooking skills/recipes from you!
