For the past six months we've had Jayda sleeping in her room, and Skyler essentially sleeping in the office since we knew pretty quick that the two of them sharing a room wasn't going to work out. But, in two months we will be moving into a two bedroom apartment where seperate bedrooms will no longer be an option. Since I am one of those really annoying people who likes to have everything planned and taken care of MONTHS in advance, I came up with the hairbrained scheme to move Skyler into Jayda's room so they can get used to each other.
It's not going well.
I actually find the whole thing really hilarious, Glenn, not so much. These two kids can play together all day long, and the minute we put them down in the same room, they suddenly become the scariest objects known to man. Skyler is terrified of Jayda in the bed next to him, Jayda is terrified of Skyler in his big horrifying white crib. Skyler stares at her and cries, which makes her cry, which turns into screaming, which has me laughing. It's really not that funny, and we've already resorted to putting a playpen back in the office just so Skyler can fall asleep, then we move him.
Ah, parenthood. Babysteps, that's really all you can do!

Oh man. I don't look forward to that, if I ever get two kids. ;o) I think you are smart to get them started now.
I am one of those people who love to have things planned out to a T as far into the future as I can muster. So I completely understand. Good luck with everything! When our second comes around someday, room sharing will need to mandatory as we have a 2 bedroom now and will end up living in an apt at least 1 year if not 2. Unless we do a playpen in the living room type option....I suppose any room can turn into a sleeping room if need be :-)
I pity you...and totally understand what you're going through. We just visited my dad for the weekend and had the kids in the same room- we didn't have to endure screaming though... ours were gigglers- I was ready to go out of my mind when giggling was still happening after 11:00pm. We did the whole separtation until asleep thing too- I can't imagine them as permanent roomies though!- good luck with it all! ;)
HILARIOUS!!!
