This is one of those times where I just kept thinking about the quote "you don't know what you have until it's gone."
My camera and I have had a love/hate relationship since the beginning. It's a great camera because it's small, compact, really easy to use and digital. But, the picture quality is not always up to it's highest, especially when I know what's out there. But yesterday at the swimming pool, while I was taking my usual ridiculous amount of pictures, it was splashed with water while I was saving my son from drowning. I didn't think much of it, it was just a little water, my watch has endured a thousand times worse. But when I went to turn it back on, there was nothing! I tried again, and again, but it was dead. There was probably a moment of genuine shock while I tried to determine what was worse, that my daily companion had just totally bit the dust, or that there were at least one hundred pictures of memories that I wasn't getting back. My friends suggested I wait and let it dry out and maybe it would work again in a few hours. A few hours went by and nothing.
It wasn't until we were halfway home and parked at a gas station that I thought I would give it one more try. I flipped the cover back and heard the sweetest sound I'd heard all day, the beeps of my camera turning on. I gasped loud enough to wake up my grouchy, heat exhausted kids, but I can't even tell you the relief I felt knowing that my camera had survived. I don't think I will ever take that thing for granted again!

Congrats!! You're making me feel guilty for always yelling at my camera. I think sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the world view of wanting more, but you're right- once we lose those simple things we depend on- it does make us thankful for what we have. I'm so glad you got your recorded memories back- and that you'll be able to have more to record in the future. ;)
I haven't been on the computer for awhile so i have to comment on your older posts. Looks like you guys have been having fun. I was so worried t0 move Jaxson and Alex into the same room , but I finally did it and they do pretty good except for the mornings Alex climbs up to Jaxsons bed and jumps on him and wakes him up. Its kinda funny though. Anyway, Your family pics are so dang cute! i love them!
You know, the title of this post scared me nearly to death! I'm glad your camera survived.
yay! I was so worried it wouldn't make it
