I think before I even moved out here I was told that one of the toughest months to get through was February. The biggest reasons being that it's still cold, the whole family is burnt out from school, and there's really nothing going on. Our February seemed to start out on a really high note, and went really quickly, but for some reason the last few weeks just seemed to drag. The one thing that I noticed more then anything was how TIRED we all were. I think it was the cold, indoor days that hummed in our ears like lullabys. I was so surprised at how often I found Jayda, who has stopped taking naps quite a while ago, fast asleep. Even Skyler went down early and stayed down for a long time, and I was able to take advantage of the rambant snoozefest by catching some Zzzz's of my own! I'm not complaining, I just thought it was kind of weird!

Under the Sea!
Let me just start out by saying, I love it out here! There is so much to do in Philly that it's overwhelming in the best possible way. I have no idea if we are going to see all there is to see in the short three years we have left out here, but it's going to be fun trying!
Almost a month ago (I'm quite behind), we decided to have a fun aquarium day with the Bostons. We'd just purchased an aquarium pass and were itching to use it. It's in New Jersey, but it only takes about twenty minutes to get there. And it's a fun drive crossing the bridge to get there. The aquarium was HUGE and a lot of fun. The best part was how much the kids loved it, even Skyler, who normally hates to be in his stroller, was eating it all up. Sea life is so CREEPY, in a really cool way, and fun to observe from behind a glass!
Me being the hyper, obsessive blogger that I am, took about a trillion pictures. If you need to take a break, get a drink of water, stretch, please do. I'm all about your health.
The view and the bridge right in front of the aquarium.

While we were there we saw a 4-D (who knew there was 4-D!) Sponge Bob movie. It was really short, but pretty cool. They tried to make it more of a ride with rumbly floors and chairs and air that they shot from the back of your seat. Jayda had her hands over her ears the whole time, but kept her glasses on. Skyler didn't keep his glasses on, but pointed at the screen the whole time, fairly mesmerized and drooling.Posted by teresa at 6:58 PM 5 comments

Trip to DC!
A few weeks ago I got an email which contained some very interesting words, such as: Washington DC, cheap babysitting, temple trip...where do I sign? DC was one place that we've been dying to visit, and it has been way too long since we've been to the temple. We also knew that we couldn't drive clear to DC without taking complete advantage of the situation. So we tagged along with two other couples in our area, the Bostons and Torgersons, such fun people, and had a fun temple/site seeing day. We definitely didn't hit everything that there is to see in DC (that could take days), but we were able to see some cool things, and we got familiar with their transportation system (thanks Kelley!), so that next time won't be near as intimidating!
Riding the subway
This is Jayda's new signature post, one hand out like that...perhaps she's starting a trend
Capitol Building, it was kind of cool to be in the same place that the inauguration had just happened weeks before.
Standing in front of the Washington Memorial. We definitely scored on the weather that day, it was gorgeous, none of us needed coats!
We spent most of our time in the Museum of Natural History. It was really cool, and had so much that you could probably spend all day in that one museum. The day would have been absolutely perfect had our kids been just a little happier. They were pretty cranky from getting up so early and being so out of their element. Part of being a parent right! Lucky for us we have three years to check it out again!
This is a hard picture to see, but it's me posing under a gigantic whale. It took every ounce of courage I had.

Pretty Pretty Princesses, (and Princes)
Let me start off by saying...I'm so behind! This month is flying by and every time I turn around there is more to be done. But it's nice to be busy. It makes the time go quick and keeps us in a better mood when there is a full schedule, especially considering the cold weather! So, in the next few days, I will try hard to get nice and caught up!
A couple weeks ago Jayda was invited to a really cute princess tea party at her friend Libby's house. It gave me a really good excuse to get her a costume dress (something I've been wanting to get her for a while) and get her all prettied up. At the party they got to make crowns (princes too!) and had a yummy princess lunch at the table that was decorated so cute! We all had a great time!
