Swimming Lesson

We signed the kids up for swimming lessons again this year, except this time Skyler got to be in a class. Jayda advanced from last year, and Sky did a "Mommy and me" style class, which Glenn was able to do with him. I think they all really enjoyed it, and it helped them all so much. Sky LOVES to swim, especially under water. Jayda also did really good, it helped to boost her confidence a lot as a swimmer. They were both able to jump off the platform, perhaps with a bit of help, but hey...

Camping at Fort Washington, again

This was a good camping year for us! Our last camping trip was spent in Fort Washington, where at whole lotta people came, but a few stayed for the night. It was another great opportunity to get to know people, and eat s'mores!

First Girl's Night of the Semester

Every fall we get a new set of families coming in for school, work etc. And to spend time with each other and get to know each other better we try to have a girl's night once a month. Our first one of the semester it was so nice outside that we were able to do it at the park at Henry. It was a lot of fun and a great way to get to know the new gals.

Camping at West Chester

During the summer we took a camping trip out in West Chester with the Matsons. We got a really great spot by the lake where the kids had a great time playing and fishing. They also got to play at the playground and swim at the pool. The guys had a wonderful time cooking in the dutch ovens, something that Glenn has grown to live for!

Puzzlers

One thing you'll learn about our family is that we're huge puzzle people. I take that back, Skyler is a big puzzle person, and so to support him, we've also gotten into puzzles. He has a LOT of puzzles and has literally spent hours putting them together and taking them apart, over and over. He's even moved on to 100 piecers, which is what the picture is. Glenn followed suit not too long ago and did a 1000 piecer. It took him a while, but he did it. I was absolutely no help at all as I have the attention span of a gnat.

Castle Park

During the summer I was introduced to the Castle Park, which is about forty five minutes away, but well worth the drive in my opinion. This is perfect park in my opinion! Totally fenced in, one way in, one way out. Shaded picnic tables right by the entrance. Awesome and safe park, with park monitors. Bathrooms and concessions right by the park, loved it. I'm pretty sure we stayed for the majority of the day. I'm bummed that we only made it out a few times this summer, but I definitely plan to go a lot next summer!

Jayda's Birthday

We did most of Jayda's birthday in San Diego for my family, but on the actual day of her birthday, I thought we should still get out and do something fun! We met over at Houston Park with some friends where they have great fountains to run through. The kids can't get enough, and it's free! They enjoyed some birthday rice crispy treats and playing on the playground as well.









I can't believe my baby girl is already five! She is such a joy and full of all sorts of surprises. Here are a few facts about Jayda:

She is comprised of 100% imagination. She is always telling stories, or singing songs she has made up. Sometimes I think she even goes to an imaginative place. It makes it hard for her to focus sometimes, but it also makes her adorable, and full of excitement.

She LOVES to color. Find an untouched picture and she will be sure to add color to it. She is also very into accessorizing and decorating. Sometimes is works, sometimes it doesn't.

She is a very good big sister, even when the younger kids aren't her brother. She likes to make up fun games and ideas to keep kids around her occupied. She's very sensitive to other's feelings.

Jayda is such a sweetheart, and as fun as it is to see her go off to kindergarten, it's just not the same at home without her.

Jayda loves food about as much as I do, including all of the fun cooking shows on TV. She really threw me for a loop when she requested chicken ravioli with red sauce for her birthday dinner. It was the first time making homemade ravioli, but it turned out great and ended up being a lot of fun. Jayda was an excellent helper!
