Spring Break...oh yeah!

I think when it comes to blogging, I'm just going to be perpetually behind. But I figure as long as I get it done eventually then it's all good, right!

This year's Spring Break was a little weird, but still a wonderful week. We had originally planned to take a little trip to NH, but I couldn't seem to shake the mutant sick bug that had been plaguing me all month! So it was a slower week, but still priceless time getting Glenn all to ourselves! Most of our week was spent inside eating fattening food and watching our Netflix shows, but here are some of the things we did when we managed to get out of the house!

A year or so before even moving to Philadelphia we watched a Throw Down with Bobby Flay when he went to the Pop Shop in NJ. Their specialty over there is all things grilled cheese sandwiches, and since I've seen it, I've been dying to try it out! We finally went with some foodie friends the Cardons and got some yummy sandwiches. Sara and I ordered and traded halves (she totally speaks my language!), she got a pesto chicken grilled cheese, and I got a fried shrimp grilled cheese. They were both so yummy. We're going to have to go back when our kids are a bit older. They are still at an age that's tough to take them to a sit down restaurant (Jayda spilled her water twice!), but we still had a great time!

And since we were so close, we couldn't go home without visiting the aquarium again. That place is so much fun, and it was nice to go on a weekday, the crowds are much smaller.

Later in the week, we drove out to Broomall to check out Kehler's Gym. It's a really fun and huge set of ball pits, tubs, ladders, nets, ziplines and obstacles for kids. The fun part was the you could go everywhere your kid went. It was a bit exhausting, especially following Skyler, who couldn't care less about the "small kid" area. He wanted to check it all out, and nothing was stopping him! I was kind of proud, nothing makes him happier then just exploring, and this was one of the few places where we could let him go wherever he wanted. I also loved that it was cheap, and we only had to pay for the kids. We'll definitely be going back.

We also made it out to the King of Prussia mall. We are admitted mall rats, so King of Prussia is like crack to us. That place is SO huge, so we can never cover the whole place in one day, and the kids really like wandering the mall too. It's good cheap fun. This is them riding the coin operated cars.

And this is the kids doing what we did for the majority of the break. They are so cute when they get cuddly.

Since we had so much fun playing with the kids at the gym, we decided to let them play again at Smith's Playhouse. Plus, Glenn had never been there, so it was fun to show him one of our favorite places to play. The kids love all the choices and different rooms that they get to play in.

Jayda's face is a bit underwhelming in this picture, but look at that dollhouse! The kid in me wanted to grab it and take it home so that I could play with it and organize it for hours, I'm not ashamed.

I call these little rocking toys, finger crushers.

Skyler loves this little playhouse, he spent forever going back and forth opening the doors and windows.

Jayda took this picture, not bad for a rookie!

This is Skyler, announcing that it's time to go!

The last thing we did was go back to Fairmount Park after months of missing it over the winter. I LOVE this park, and I love that it's so close. Of course, it wasn't near as pretty is it's going to be when it starts getting green, but it was warm enough to enjoy, the ducks were out and it was full of people just happy to be outside again. We realized quickly that we need to go on walks often because Jayda acted as though we were trying to brutally kill her with exercise. Time to get those moving legs back! Skyler on the other hand wanted nothing to do with his stroller, so it was an interesting and entertaining walk, but lots of fun too!

Taking a break after a brutal five minutes of walking, she is my Karma for sure!

We tried to get Skyler to feed the ducks. He eventually understood the concept of throwing the bread, but for a while it was all just going in his mouth!

I love my little family!

Jayda loves walking to this waterfall. She isn't quite big enough to walk as close as she'd like, but it will be cool when she is!

And that's it ya'll! Hope you're having a great spring!

I'm glad you had such a fun break despite being sick! That grilled cheese place looks so yummy,we will have to try that. Skylar does love to explore doesn't he...yesterday when I watched him he seemed most content if I just left him alone and let him wander looking around things, almost none of which were toys. It was pretty cute! And I LOVE that blue striped sweater of yours, you look so cute in it!
