Random acts of Blogging

As I mentioned earlier, the past few weeks have been good, but slow. We got hit with a nasty sick bug that seemed to morph and mutate into several different kinds of sicks over a course of two or three weeks. It was pretty narly, and it seems to be hitting everyone! Luckily we're all finally getting better and we plan to stay that way! So here are just some small moments that helped to brighten our days.

Jayda got to take care of the class pet "Starry" a few days ago. It was really fun having Starry with us and Jayda took good care of her (apparently Starry is a girl!) She tucked her in for naps, brushed her teeth and slept with her at night. It was really cute, we were happy to have Starry at our house.

I thought I'd take another set of church pictures since my kids look so dang cute. I actually got Skyler's suit in a church clothing drive, so it was totally free and I LOVE it. He looks like he's ready to go to prom or something!

My handsome boys.

Jayda, full of sass and attitude, and a bit of breakfast still in her mouth!

This was awesome. It's always a big job getting our groceries back to our apartment, seeing as we have to take the elevator etc. We usually let Jayda carry something small, which she almost always decides is too heavy and gives it back to us. But after Skyler saw Jayda carrying something, he insisted on carrying a bag, particularly the one with a carton of milk. It took him forever, but he made it down the entire hall and refused to let us take it from him. That's my man!

Check out what I made! A few weeks ago I went to a "bows and belts" party thrown by some awesome girls in our area and I was able to make a bunch of cute things for Jayda's hair. The timing couldn't have been better either, Jayda finally lets me do her hair. Our deal is that she has to keep it in until we're home, she does a great job keeping up her end of the bargain!

It's moments like these when you wonder when in the world your kids got so big! Jayda has become a puzzle master and can put her 24 piece puzzles together without any help. It's so fun to watch her and I'm so proud of her for keeping at something without giving up.

Our kids are pretty lucky because they have a dad who has the most GIANT sweet tooth known to man. He loves to bake and cook treats, and when he does, the kids always get to watch and help. And of course we all love getting to eat up when they're done! It's really cute. And yes, that is Skyler in girly pajamas. I think purple is his color, don't you?

I LOVE the bows you made for Jayda!! They look great!! You'll have to teach me sometime. And you are lucky to have a husband with a sweet tooth who also bakes-- I'd be happy just if mine would EAT the sweet stuff and not leave it all for me to finish up.:)
