If you have been following my blog for the last few years, you know that every single fall we like to go to at least one orchard or pumpkin patch, if not several. Freddy Hill Farms was a tradition that held up every year I was in Philly. I love it because the falls here are so beautiful, and it's such a fun kickoff to my favorite season.
So when our ward announced that the youth were having a trip to the apple orchards, but everyone was welcome, we said, "why not?" It ended up being such a great way to get to know the people in our ward better and see some beautiful New Jersey sites. NJ might be scummy in some neighborhoods, but it can also be so gorgeous and peaceful. They don't call it The Garden State for nothing.
The kids playing with the youth in our ward. I'm amazed at how amazing our youth are. They are some of the most driven, non-judgemental kids I've ever been. Pleasant and friendly as heck. I need to get tips from their parents!
Turkeys. It was a bit sad seeing them all cooped up in the cage like this, but it's definitely not going to stop me from eating my weight's worth come Slapsgiving (name that reference!)
My darling friend Claire. We just love her and her family.
Apple picking! We got an entire barrel, and surprisingly had them used up in about a week. I've caught the baking bug!
Once our bishop found out that there was a corn maze at the orchard, it was a done deal, we were going. I sat out, but Jayda went with some of the YW, which she thought was so cool and made her feel very grown up. Skyler and Glenn went through together and were the first ones to make it out.

Yea!! I'm glad you're getting more and more settled into your ward and New Joisey. We have friends from our residency in Vegas who got stationed in NJ. Are you at all close to the AFB?
