Like so many other people, I LOVE the fall! I love the smells, the cooler weather, the colors of the leaves changing, the comfort foods (of course), and the preparation of winter hibernating. So I was pretty excited to be going to the pumpkin patch, which is basically the epitome of everything fall stands for! It was a field trip for Jayda's preschool class, and the tour for each person was really cheap. We had so much fun, and the weather was beautiful, dare I say a little too warm-at least for how we were dressed.
As crazy as it may sound, one of my favorite parts of the trip was the drive to and from the pumpkin patch. The kids were being so good in the car and since I took the back roads to avoid paying tolls, we had about 30 minutes of such beautiful Pennsylvania scenery. The leaves and the houses were so gorgeous, and it was so relaxing. I would go back just for the drive! Jayda can't seem to take a picture right now without pulling her jaw off her face!
This is the hay-wagon we rode to get to the patch, I thought we would be sitting up on bales of hay, instead you just snuggle right down in the loose hay. It was great, and I didn't have to worry so much about the kids falling off or anything.

Sitting in the hay wagon!
Look at Skyler ready to lick the heck out of his pumpkin! It makes me laugh, even though it should probably make me horrified.
It was pretty fun searching for pumpkins with the kids. The pumpkins were all really small and cute. The only hard part was trying to explain to Jayda that she could only pick one, she jumped from pumpkin to pumpkin pretty fast, but I think she was pretty happy with the one she chose. Skyler didn't care as long as he could put it in his mouth, yuck!
Afterward, we got dropped off at a corn maze for kids. At the end was a slide. The corn maze turned out to be kind of tough (especially for one as direction oriented as I am!). At the end was a big cool slide for the kids to go down.
The cherry on the cake was the ice cream at the end of the tour. The ice cream was SO THICK and creamy, mmmm. Jayda isn't supposed to have a lot of dairy, but I didn't have the heart to tell her no, so I let her have a cone. Fortunately they weren't too big and she ended up being okay, I think whatever ailments she would have suffered were slept off in the car! Thanks for the fun field trip Jamie and Annette!
